Setting Permissions on Teams

Option 1

You can click the microphone with the cross through to prevent students unmuting.  Clicking manage permissions will take you to the screen shot underneath this one.

From here you can choose what settings you want to disable. You can stop students from joining the meeting without you present, this is done by the ‘who can bypass the lobby’ setting, you can also stop students from presenting by changing the ‘Who can present’ setting.

Where it says who can present this should be changed to “Only Me”. This way only presenters can mute others and kick other participants from the call.

Option 2

Another way to do this is by scheduling a meeting and going into meeting options.
